Just after graduating from the University of Michigan in 1989, I received my first exposure to miniature horses.  I had shown Arabians and Quarter Horses while growing up, and gave riding lessons to Debbie Lynch.  Her mother, Connie Lynch, had just decided to start a miniature horse farm and I joined her on a trip across the Northeast and Midwest to find the best miniature horses available to start Alvadar Miniatures.

Five years later Connie was reviewing a tape of some horses for sale and I saw a broodmare that I felt was too good of an opportunity to pass up.  In 1994 I purchased Grandpas Lady Spitfire with Alvadar.

In the summer of 1995 the mare gave birth to a tiny black filly, MFAs Silver Issue who was shown to AMHA Top Ten in 1996.  I was hooked.

In 1998 Abria was established with the goal of breeding "Elegance in Motion".  Abria is founded on the principle that a top quality horse must have both excellent conformation and movement.  We have assembled some of the finest bloodlines in the industry and are just beginning our journey of breeding a horse that wins both National Grand Champion in Halter and in Driving.  A goal that should keep us challenged for years to come.

Abria is located on a 60 acre farm in Lowell, MI.   Please contact us if you would like to visit.
